Scottish Horn and Silver Snuff Mull

Product Description – A great example of 19th Century snuff mulls, this one has it all.  It is beautifully patinated with a darker ram’s horn and has a highly desired curled end.  The mount has a great agate stone surrounded by a decorative silver mount and clasp that are in good working condition.  There is a minor crack in the curling of the horn and was likely developed during creation as these are heated to curl the ends of the ram’s horn.  This example measures about 4 inches in length and is simply a gorgeous snuff mull for your consideration.

Provenance – Purchased from an estate in Georgetown, Maryland.  This example was one of a few purchased from a foreign dignitary stationed here in the US.
