Product Description – This figural lamp is absolutely the cutest. Made from spelter, these lamps were developed as a cheaper version of the bronze statuary made for the very rich. They generally captured whimsical scenes of various sizes and costs. This example is Circa 1920/30s and has a youngster with an oversized brim hat likely pushing a snowball as the globe on this lamp was a white round ball with a miniature bulb contained within. And when lit, the image lights up and shows the youngster pushing the snowball. It is artist signed A. deRamdy on the bottom corner of the lamp. Its in relatively good condition for its age and really just needs a replacement globe to bring him back to life. Overall size is about 11 inches wide X 9 inches at the tallest point of the lamp.
Provenance: Purchased from an estate in Parkersburg, WV. Great family with lots of unusual antiques.
